About Me

What if I could help improve the well-being of this planet, the animals, myself and others all at the same time? That’s what this site is for–spreading awareness about a plant-based lifestyle!

Hi, I’m Tambra and welcome to Veggie Edge. I’ve been a vegetarian since 1994, a vegan since 2004 and I’ve created this site to hopefully give you an extra “edge” of information if you are exploring plant-based eating. Or if you’ve been into it for awhile, then let this site be another favorite you add to your bookmarks. After studying dietetics at UW Madison, I furthered my education at Clayton College of Natural Health with a Master’s Degree in Holistic Nutrition and a Doctorates in Natural Health. I live in the suburbs of Chicago with my wonderful vegan husband, Rob. We like to cook up a storm together and always love connecting with others that enjoy healthy living.

Veggie Edge is here to connect and form a health-conscious community. I hope you enjoy browsing the site; use the search bar if you’re looking for something specific, and remember to scroll to the bottom of each page to view Older Posts! You will find recipes, opinions and other veggie-related factoids on my site. I always welcome comments and questions as well, just go the the home page, www.veggieedge.com and click on “Send a Question”. If you are interested in reading my book, you may click on the book icon on my main page or visit www.BarnesandNoble.com or www.amazon.com. It tells my story of giving up meat at 15 years old and shares easy-to-follow advice on how to become a nutritionally successful vegan.

Interested in natural health? Want to become a vegetarian? This site is  for you.  If you’re already a vegetarian or a vegan, this site is definitely for you. I hope you love it! No matter your personal quest in life, everyone is welcome here. Avoiding animal products promises more health benefits than you can imagine. So at the end of the day, you decide…to veg, or not to veg?  As for me, my mission is simple: Be a vegan, laugh a lot, love life, enjoy food, share it with others and help the planet!
